About the Artwork
My good friend, Mathy Downing, and her husband, Andy, had two daughters. The younger of the two was a happy, pubescent girl—a cheerleader who had lots of friends and was always making others happy; however, she had a lot of anxiety when she had to take a test, so her parents sought help and Candace was prescribed an antidepressant. Instead of making her happy, the drug did exactly the opposite. She became angry, had trouble sleeping and was suddenly aggressive. She wasn’t herself anymore. Her parents didn’t know what to do, but the doctor had a solution: Her prescription was increased and within 7 weeks, 12-year-old Candace hanged herself. Mathy now spends her free time on my Alliance. She speaks to other parents, advocating their rights and responsibilities to know more about drugs—and specifically about being familiar with the Medication Guides that are put out by the Food & Drug Administration.

Only 295 prints have been created of each of the 6 showcased pieces of Nancy's art. These prints are generated with an extended-print color range to capture all of the fine detail from her originals. Both the inks and paper are maximum archival qualities. The paper is textured heavy rag in content and snow white in surface. Nancy personally signs, titles and numbers each print and its accompanying certificate of registry for authentication.
